Sarc is an artisan group in Jaipur, India that has been established for more than 23 years. The group employs people in multiple villages and helps them build sustainable incomes for their families and their futures. By working within the community, this group helps each artisan with their personal goals, like sending their children to good schools.
This artisan group also helps preserve the practices and traditional skills found throughout the participating villages and gives those skills new life in each textile created. Each article of clothing this group creates is a unique work of art produced by the skilled handiwork of multiple artisans.
It really does take a village to contribute to each item’s beauty. Every step in the process—from making the fabric, stitching it together, adding embroidery, dyeing the fabric and applying any number of unique prints and designs—highlights the skills and beautiful traditions found throughout the 25+ villages involved.
As described and as expected, very nice top, generously sized. Like it a lot and would recommend!
Beautiful, flattering and so comfortable. Very high quality too!!
I bought this last year. It is very flowy and loose so super comfortable. When it arrived, I gave it low odds of surviving me, but it has proved me wrong. it is hand wash, cold, hang. sure, that will happen. I assumed it would probably shrink or wrinkle, or dethread, nope, I was wrong. It gets tossed into a lingerie bag, washed with all my other dark in warm, and hung dry. I have washed it at least 20 times and it looks almost new. The only thing I can find is the orange thread around the mirror is starting to fuzz a tiny bit. Had I not been writing this review, I would not have noticed. Once, my husband even gathered laundry, washed and dried it with the rest, and it came out just fine. I'd still hang dry though, and yes in a lingerie bag as an agitator could be bad, however it is a lot more durable than I thought. Not even any missing or loose beads. Taken cat claws, snags. I wear it every week. I am back to buy more, as well as short sleeved and maybe a dress.
